New on ByUs: replays, chat moderators, and growth that runs itself

Members can watch your lives later, trusted fans can help run your chat, and ByUs now shows which posts bring you fans and follows up with people who almost joined. All of it works on its own.

Growing a page shouldn’t mean another job on top of making things. This week’s update is built around that: more of the work that wins and keeps members now happens on its own, so you can spend your time on what your fans actually came for.

Live replays

Not everyone can make it to a live. A few minutes after yours ends, it shows up under Live streaming on your dashboard with a Post as replay button. Give it a title and it becomes a post on your page, members-only unless you choose Public, and your members get the usual new-post email.

  • Only lives that passed our automatic safety check can be posted.
  • Captions are added automatically, like every video on ByUs.
  • You can keep up to 20 hours of replays. Delete a replay post and that time frees up.
  • Lives you don’t post are still deleted after 30 days.

Chat moderators

A busy chat is a good problem, but it’s hard to watch while you’re on camera. Pick up to 10 members or followers you trust, and in your lives they can remove a message or mute someone from your chats. They get a Mod badge, they can’t act on you or each other, and only you can add or remove them.

See which posts bring you fans

Your dashboard now has a card called Posts that brought you fans. When someone finds you through a post, on Discover, on your page or through its share link, and then follows you, joins, tips or buys within a week, that post gets the credit. For each one you see new members and what they pay, tips and sales, new followers, views and likes. You see numbers, never names.

Counting started today, so it fills in over the next few weeks. Once it does, it answers the question every creator asks: what should I make more of?

Two new automatic helpers

  • Still want to join? If someone starts joining your membership and doesn’t finish, they get one friendly reminder a few hours later.
  • What members got this month. Once a month at most, people who follow you for free get the titles of your newest members-only posts and a link to join. Titles only, never the posts themselves, and only when you’ve posted at least 2 members-only posts that month.

Both are on by default and need nothing from you. Fans can stop either one with a tap, and you can switch them off under Automatic helpers on your dashboard. They join the helpers that were already working for you: sneak peeks for people who haven’t joined, “live now” emails, 7 days of grace when a member’s card fails, and a friendly note to people who left.

A fuller Discover

Discover now opens with who’s live right now, ends with a peek at members-only posts from across ByUs (titles only), and has short starter guides for new creators. Creators who haven’t posted publicly in a while get a reminder that public posts are how new fans find them.

A tidier menu

When you’re signed in on a computer, the top bar now keeps just Discover, Battle Stars, Inbox and Dashboard. Everything else is one click away under your name.

Questions or ideas? Every one of these came from thinking about what creators shouldn’t have to do by hand. Tell me what’s next: tap Message Evan on your dashboard or email support@byusapp.com.
