Live showdowns are here
Go live, challenge another creator and let both of your audiences pick a side. Showdowns, guests on camera and live gifts are on ByUs today.
Creator battles are one of the most exciting things happening in live video right now, and they’re on ByUs today. Here’s what a showdown is and how to start one.
Two creators, one live
While you’re live with the ByUs camera, tap Showdown and send an invite to another creator. When they accept, you appear side by side on your live. Each round is 5 minutes, and both of your audiences fill your power rods with free cheers, tips and gifts. Anyone signed in to ByUs can watch, so your fans meet theirs, and theirs meet you.
Built for a great finish
- Gold Rush: tips and gifts in the last 45 seconds of a round count double, so the lead can flip right at the buzzer.
- Smoked out: fall far behind in the last minute and smoke rolls across your camera. Your points count half until your fans push you back over the line.
- A one-minute encore for the round’s winner, and a 🔥 streak for creators who keep winning.
- Each side’s MVP, the fan who added the most points, shows under their creator’s camera.
Points only decide the round. They have no cash value, and every tip and gift stays with the creator it was sent to, win or lose. Creators keep 70% of what fans send during a live (the ByUs Live rate), card processing included.
More ways to make a live fun
- Guests on camera: fans watching can ask to join you, and you can let up to 3 on at once.
- Live gifts from a 5¢ Wave up to the $500 Headliner, with a one-tap Wave for fans who like to give a little at a time.
- A gift menu that tells fans what each gift gets them, like “Sunflower = Shoutout”.
- Full-screen lives with chat floating over the video, hearts, a viewer count and a 3-2-1 countdown when you go live.
It all runs right in your phone’s browser or the ByUs home-screen app. Nothing to download from an app store.
